It’s Bike Month and Mental Health Awareness Month. May is a great month to plan a cycling tour or to get out and pedal in the Pacific Northwest.
Skagit Spring Classic, May 9, Mt. Vernon, Washington. Skagit Bicycle Club's 34th Annual Skagit Spring Classic Bicycle Ride tours through beautiful hills, valleys and rural roads of Skagit County. Enjoy quiet country roads that are flat in the valley but climb up into the hills on longer routes winding through forest land with beautiful marine views of the Salish Sea.
Cycle Oregon offers three multi-day tours.
GRAVEL, May 8-10, is a basecamp-style weekend event with three days of riding of various distances to feed your appetite. Routes are a combination of pavement and gravel.
JOYRIDE, June 12-14, is the women and non-binary riders basecamp-style weekend. Joyride offers three days of pedaling various distances as you feel up to it. Sparkle dance party on Saturday night!
RALLY, August 28-September 2, is a camp and primarily road ride experience. Riders move to a new camp community twice, but Cycle Oregon hauls your gear.
All rides offer excellent entertainment and amenities.
Tour de Outback, June 27th, Lakeview, Oregon. This one-day road ride is totally worth making a longer adventure of it. Lakeview isn’t the easiest place to get to, which makes the scenery so much more spectacular for the remoteness. The area is an International Dark Sky Sanctuary and a community where you can also explore the Fremont Tier of the Oregon Timber Trail by mountain bike.
Cascade Bicycle Club organizes many rides in Washington state, including STP (Seattle to Portland) July 11-12 and RSVP (Ride Seattle to Vancouver and Party) August 22-23.
Tour de Whatcom, July 18, Bellingham, Washington. This one-day road ride is in epic Pacific Northwest scenery from Mt. Baker to Bellingham Bay and forest and farmland between. Four ride distances from 22 miles to 100 miles.
Sea to Sound, August 28-30, Olympic Peninsula, Washington. Sea To Sound is a 74-mile, three-day, multi-modal group ride spanning the entire length of the Olympic Discovery Trail. Wheelchair users are strongly encouraged to participate, and ride organizers will work with you to ensure you are accommodated. This is a fully accessible experience organized around community. Saturday evening’s entertainment is a wheelchair rodeo!
Chuckanut Classic, August 29, Bellingham, Washington. Mount Baker Bicycle Club's signature ride. Come join us and ride one of the most scenic rides in Washington. With many routes offered you can pick your distance: 25, 38, 62 (metric century/100km), or the full century of 100 miles.
