Heidi Across America tells a story of growth, self discovery, empathy, and adventure through Heidi's solo cycling journey across the country. Learn about slow travel and the writing process, ask questions about cross-country touring, swap stories, and enjoy social time.

Set during summer 2010, Heidi pedaled solo from Eugene, OR, to Washington, DC, studying bicycle tourism and rural economic development. The story is about the personal transformation she experienced in America's heartland, which had a lot to do with the kindness of strangers. She came to see America as something alive in the hearts of the people she met. The care she received changed the way she saw herself, too, and she fell in love with her own tender heart out there in the heat of summer.
